The Story

“NO LOVE HERE” has been at least twenty years in the writing. Hopefully, like a good wine it has improved with age. I was motivated to begin writing the book, when life for my family and I was at its lowest point, living in Ballina, County Mayo. I was of the opinion that it was important to record the story of my life up until then; if not for publication, then certainly as a family history.

We had met the ‘evil men’ I mentioned earlier, and through their evil deeds had lost our home and our future in London. One morning, I stood outside our home in Mill Hill and with a weeping wife and three small, bewildered children by our sides watched the banks representatives change the locks on our front door. At that moment, I had no idea where we were going to sleep that night.

My aunt in Enniscrone had always said to me: “The world will teach you”. It certainly had and with a vengeance. Meanwhile, the Irish solicitor who was the main cause of our woes had fled with his family to the continent; pursued by the law Society and the Fraud squad.

I hope that "NO LOVE HERE" will help others who may face hardship and disappointments, or even tragedy in their lives, that God is good and that
