I was astonished when I saw how long ago it was since I posted an item on my website. This was partly due to he virus However I have been busy. For example, there is a 119 page screenplay adapting part of the autobiography- to do the full book would make the film as long, if not longer than “Gone With The Wind.” Since music is said to contribute at least 50% to a films success - think of the film mentioned above “ Casablanca” and “The Third Man.”, I have chosen some wonderful music for the projected film. e.g. Danny Boy, Beethoven’s “Moonlight Sonata” , “Nimrod” from Elgar’s” Enigma Variations” and the first movement of Bruch’s “ First violin concerto.” If that were enough, what about the “Easter Hymn” as heard in the God Father. Then in my second concert at St. Pancras Town Hall, elderly songwriter Tommy Connor leads the audience in singing two of two of well-known compositions “ I saw Mammy Kissing Santa Claus” and “ Lily Marlene,” the lyrics of which, Tommy told me, he wrote in a London taxi. On Thursday of each week, when Tommy came into London, he would serve the lunchtime mass at St. Patrick’s. Soho Square.
I have been fortunate in attracting the interest of one of England’s most esteemed person in film who would consider directing the film. Regarding finance: I have a friend at the top level of a New York investment bank who is Irish-American and Catholic. By next Saturday, I hope to have the contact details of a Hollywood producer. Finally, I have been in contact with a high-profile London Rabbi to conduct the Bar-Mitzvah scene in the film, The working title of which is “ With Crooked Lines”
In addition to all of the above, I have two articles appearing in this year’s edition of the Cork “ “Holly Bough” magazine.
Until we meet again keep safe and God bless you and yours.
Martin.
