Since we last met I've been very busy working on the film treatment of my book. It is now finished and runs to 34 pages - four more than the recommended number. But then having led such a remarkable life, it was inevitable that this overrun was bound to happen.
I have also been revising six chapters of daughter Katherine's children's book, based on a single incident that took place in the townland of Carrowhubbock South, Enniscrone, Co.Sligo in 1938. From this.she has written a wonderful story of 70,000 words. She has thee more books in the series to follow.
As John Buchan is said to have written The 39 Steps, while convalescing from a serious illness, so Katherine has written her book while recovering from a serious form of breast cancer.
As Christmas approaches, a few well-chosen words from the other half of the Chester-Belloc combination: 'Where ever there are Catholics the sun doth shine, there's always laughter and good red wine; at least I've always found it so. Benedicamus Domino..'
God keep you safe until we meet again.
